Sage Runner 2069

News Story

The world is at war, but not all is lost—thanks to women, of course. Catch Lysistrata, PPA’s fresh and futuristic take on a classic comedy from October 27 through November 5 before it blasts off!

Did you dig the latest installment in the Blade Runner franchise? Are you totally into classics with a sci-fi spin, not to mention a hefty dose of comedy? The Pace School of Performing Arts has a production you’ll travel off-world for—or at least off-campus.

In a country dominated by men and devastated by its leaders’ obsession with an endless war, Lysistrata unites the women of Greece by persuading them not to have sex with their husbands until a peace treaty can be reached. Updated to the year 2069, this fresh and futuristic take on Aristophanes’ classic comedy about gender and politics is a visually striking reimagination directed by Cosmin Chivu with an original score by John Coyne.
