The Great American Smokeout
Thursday, November 17
Every year, on the third Thursday of November, smokers across the nation take part in the American Cancer Society's Great American Smokeout. If you use tobacco, consider using the date to make a plan to quit, or plan in advance and then quit smoking (or using other tobacco products) that day. Watch for a communication coming from Human Resources, inviting you to participate in the smokeout (whether you use tobacco or not). You may even win a prize! Did you know? About 42 million Americans still smoke cigarettes, and tobacco use remains the single largest preventable cause of disease and premature death in the United States.

If you have any questions about the program, please contact Karen Buckwald at or dial x22755.
