Congress After Watergate: A Talk (NYC)

On Thursday, May 3, two very special guests will be visiting the NYC Campus to discuss the aftermath of the historic Watergate scandal—author John Lawrence, and the Honorable Elizabeth Holtzman.
The Century Foundation and Pace University invite you to celebrate the release of The Class of ’74: Congress After Watergate and the Roots of Partisanship. Join us for an evening reception and short program featuring John Lawrence, a thirty-eight-year veteran of the Washington political scene, and the Honorable Elizabeth Holtzman, who defeated a fifty-year incumbent in 1972 to become the youngest woman ever elected to Congress at age 31. Be there!
Thursday, May 3, 2018
5:00 p.m.–7:00 p.m.
163 William Street, 18th Floor
NYC Campus
They will be discussing lessons for today from the post-Watergate Congress. Holtzman served on the House Judiciary Committee during Watergate, where she voted for the impeachment of Richard Nixon. If you’re interested in attending, please RSVP today!
